چکیده

The verified integration of ranges of initial conditons through ODEs faces two major challenges, namely the precise representation of the flow over the short term, and the avoidance of unfavorable buildup of errors in the long term. We discuss the method of shrink wrapping for meeting the second of these challenges within the framework of Taylor model methods. Illustrative examples of the performance of the method and comparisons to other approaches are given. AMS Subject Classification: 65L05, 65G20, 34-04, 41A58

Suppression of the Wrapping Effect by Taylor Model- Based Verified Integrators: Long-term Stabilization by Preconditioning

The verified integration of ranges of initial conditons through ODEs faces two major challenges, namely the precise representation of the flow over the short term, and the avoidance of unfavorable buildup of errors in the long term. The Taylor model approach is very well suited to overcome the problems of short term flow representation. In this paper we discuss a method based on preconditioning...

Recent Advances in the Rigorous Integration of Flows of ODEs with Taylor Models

Since the early work of Moore, and perfected for the linear autonomous case by Lohner, it is known that preconditioning based on enclosing the accumulated errors in suitably chosen coordinate systems allows for effective suppression of the wrapping effect. The amount of error that needs to be accounted for itself can be significantly reduced by representing flows in terms of polynomials in the ...

Suppression of the Wrapping Effect by Taylor Model- Based Validated Integrators Msu Report Msuhep 40910

The validated integration of ranges of initial conditons through ODEs faces two major challenges, namely the precise representation of the flow over the short term, and the avoidance of unfavorable buildup of errors in the long term. We discuss methods for meeting those challenges within the framework of Taylor model methods, in which the dependence on initial conditions is expressed by a high-...

The Method of Shrink Wrapping For the Validated Solution of ODEs

In this note, we outline one method to perform shrink wrapping to eliminate the remainder term of the Taylor model integration of ODEs. We point out that there are many variants of this approach, and while the one shown here is perhaps the simplest one to understand, it is not necessarily the optimal choice. More about other possibilities at the end of the section. After the n-th step of the in...

Taylor Model Based Verified Integration for the Volterra Equations and the Lorenz System

One of the important fields in validated methods is solving initial value problems in ordinary differential equations (ODEs). The typical problem of overestimation in interval arithmetic is mostly caused by the lack of information of functional dependency. The dependency problem that is related to cancellation is one issue to be overcome. Besides, in the case of solving a system of multidimensi...
